Was a monastery of Deodonades since just before 1202. In 1226 Berenguer de Palou II, bishop of Barcelona, donated the church of S. Maria de Valldonzella to a group of cistercian nuns, who remained under the direction of the abbot of Santes Creus. the official foundation charter is from later, November 4, 1237.
